The post below by Seth Godin resonated with me as we always aspire to great work. When Hannes and I consult with potential clients we try to deliver more than what's expected, we strive for excellence in every interaction. As a consultant I ask of my clients to deliver the same, to use every interaction to showcase your unique brand/vision. Seek out a small, tight "tribe" of potential clients, people creating work that is in line with your unique vision. Find a story you want to share, make imagery that resonates, and make stories that work. And then share, on a consistent basis, giving more to exceed their expectations.
--------Dangerous (in a good way)
"A path on the way to building a reputation:
- When someone asks you a question, they get an answer bigger than they ever expected.
- When someone gives you a project, they get a plan scarier than they hoped for.
- When you take on a project, you finish it.
If this is your reputation, what sort of projects and gigs will you find yourself getting? Not a good way to fit in, but an excellent way to be the one people seek out."
